Who This Desk Is For
Because the Altra Pursuit Executive Desk has a lot of space, it would work perfectly for a small business who tend to find themselves cramped with papers or always running out of room for extra office supplies.
A home office would also work, due to the nice color that this desk offers, I find that it will compliment ANY themed office.
Who This Desk Is NOT For
It is a little on the expensive side, so it would be a waste of money if you just want to place it as a ‘space filler’.
This desk is not for a child either, it is just too big and will probably take up too much of the kids room.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Very spacious, and will work wonders for anyone that’s looking for extra room for future assignments
- If that still isn’t enough, Dorel Industries have gone the extra mile to add extra space with a separate hutch piece
- I find that it’s sturdy and not going to break or wear down faster when there’s a lot of weight on it
- Not much of a pro, however the wire management slots actually look stylish and better-than-average
- The color that this desk provides fits perfectly for anyone’s contemporary taste, or most tastes for that matter
- It also works good for tall people, even if you’re over 6’3″, your legs will still have plenty of room
Cons
- Can take long to set up, which is why the set up process has been recommended for 2 people
- There’s a few common problems I see, where the product comes damaged or with missing screws/hardware
Do I Recommend This Desk?
Since the cons are really minor (apart from the desk turning up damaged), this actually has nothing to do with the quality or performance of the desk, so I would totally rule that out.
And because I find this desk to be very sturdy, high quality and durable, that is definitely something to take into consideration.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to praise desks all the time, I just think that the cons are nothing major (especially when there’s a 30 day return policy), while the benefits of the pros are heavily outweighing the cons, I would say that this desk is highly recommended.
Similar Desks
The Altra The Works desk is actually a lot cheaper and created from the same company.
However it is actually an ‘L’ shaped desk and probably not something you’re looking for.
Although it does have the same color as the Altra Pursuit Executive Desk and capable of being set up by one person a lot faster, so it could be something to take a look at.
My Final Opinion
Even though it’s recommended for 2 people to set up, it is obviously easy enough for 1 person, however it’s just going to take a little longer to set up.
I’m guessing roughly 1 hours and 30 minutes by yourself.
If you want my honest opinion, I personally wouldn’t pay this much for this desk.
Especially when the Altra The Works desk has just the same amount of sturdiness and roughly the same desktop space due to the L-shaped feature.
But by all means it’s up to you.
I find there to be hardly anything wrong with the Altra Pursuit Executive Desk, apart from it being a little pricey, especially when there’s other desks that can get the job done just as good.
